The museum shop sells small souvenirs of the museum, a range of postcards, greetings cards books and local publications. The shop specialises in selling reproduction Victorian toys such as spinning tops, slates and toy theatres.

The lift gives access to all floors. One display room is not accessible to wheelchair users. Disabled toilet facilities are available. It is advisable for those with sight and mobility limitations to be accompanied.  Brief guides in various languages and Braille.

The museum is a registered charity (No. 311309) grant aided by Cambridge City Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
