The museum can offer can offer a wide and varied selection of workshops, talks and worksheets for school groups to study the curriculum in an interesting and stimulating way.
There are several themed boxes for schools to hire for a small weekly charge. All boxes fit in to curriculum subjects at Key Stages One and Two. These boxes are especially valuable in preparation for or as a follow-up to a Folk Museum visit.
Use this exciting touch-screen interactive programme to explore the social history of Cambridge and the surrounding villages. There are a diverse range of historical images and instructive quizzes. This links to KS1 and KS2.
There are a number of specially created loans boxes for work with retired people and senior citizens. The contents of these boxes stimulate interesting and lively group discussions and memories.

The museum makes a valuable trip for EFL groups. Here you can learn about English life in the past. The museum can offer worksheets specially designed for EFL groups. There are worksheets at both beginner and intermediate level.
Adult Groups
If you are a WI group, a residential home or history society, then why not book a specialist talk with one of our knowledgeable staff?
Staff will travel to your meeting to present an illustrated talk. Subjects include, 'Shopping', 'Toys and Games', 'Town and Gown', 'Touch Wood: an introduction to wooden items at the Folk Museum' and a local history Quiz.
For a real insight into the working of the museum and the special collections held here, book an evening guided tour with a member of the curatorial staff. The museum is available for Evening Guided Tours by arrangement on most evenings in the year. Tea and coffee are provided. |
